Slumdog Millionaire will knock your socks off

Don't let the silly title of this movie fool you... Danny Boyle's latest film is much more than just the story of an 18-year-old Indian boy from the Mumbai slums trying to win a million dollars on TV. Money has nothing to do with it in fact. Love? Maybe. Belief? Everything.

The movie is divine inspiration for the heart and mind. It can't but make you feel lucky and powerless at the same time.

Brothers Jamal and Salim take you through a rollercoaster of emotions in their journey to flee from the beggars' life to a normal life as illegal tour guides at the Tashmahal.

Their journey to freedom is rich in life lessons that, in the end, turn out to come in handy.

But the movie would not have been complete without a desire for power and money on one hand and the love of a woman on the other. This would shred their brotherhood to pieces and later manifest itself through the divine grace of God, putting an end to their suffering in an unusual way.

The film has nothing to do with Bollywood's flamboyant creations of flashy colorful dances and tacky music. The footage throughout is sophisticated in its multifaceted angles and layering of content so as to transmit the intensity of the struggles the two protagonists go through.

So, get off your couch and grab a ticket. You will not be disappointed. This movie is a must see whether you are planning a trip to India or not.
